People’s moods and needs change with the weather — capitalize on impulse buys like cold drinks during a heatwave or comfy hoodies when temperatures drop. Engagement and conversions naturally rise when the offer aligns with what the customer is likely thinking about (thanks to weather). Few brands go this extra mile — leveraging weather data makes your site feel more thoughtful, modern, and customer-centric.
The Triggerbee Weather targeting enables you to categorize visitors based on different weather conditions, such as sunny, rainy, snowy, or cloudy weather. You can even target based on temperature or vind speeds. By utilizing geolocation information from visitors' IP addresses and weather forecasts from YR or SMHI, you can efficiently reach out to specific groups with tailored campaigns.
The Different Weather Targeting Options
Weather
Segment audiences based on current or forecasted weather conditions. Conditions include sunny, rainy, snowy or cloudy
You can also combine the weather options with Location, Temperature, and/or Wind Speed.
Location
If you enter a location, the campaign will display based on the weather in the specified location - rather than where the visitor is located.
If you want to combine this with location for the visitor as well, check out our Geo targeting. For instance, you can promote plane tickets to sunny Thailand when it's raining in Sweden.
Location is based on longitude and latitude coordinates and are specified as Degrees.Minutes
For example, these coordinates:
Longitute 98° 23'
Latitude 7° 14'
Are added to Triggerbee as:
Temperature
The temperature setting can be used alone (by selecting Temp as Weather) or combined with a selected weather. For instance, you might want to target sunny locations, but not sunny and minus degrees.
Temperatures are set in Celsius.
Wind Speed
The wind speed setting is useful for limiting the weather options. For instance, promote sailing activities for sunny and high-wind weather.
Timing and Forecasting Options
The last setting in the Weather targeting is Timing and Forecast, meaning that you can decide if your selected weather should be right now, tomorrow, or the upcoming weekend. Umbrellas are nice to have when its raining right now, while skiing gear is a great fit for the upcoming snowy weekend. The options are:
Right now
Later today
Tomorrow
During the next X days
On a specific date
Upcoming weekend
In X days
How to create an Audience based on Weather
Navigate to the Audience tab > Create new > Select Filter > Weather
Select what base weather you want to target, eg. Sunny or Snowy. If you only want to target a temperature range, select that base weather.
If you want to narrow your weather with location, temperature or wind speeds - add those values below.
Lastly, select the timing of your weather. Should the weather be today, or in the upcoming days?
Save your Audience. It will now be available in your Campaigns!

Regularly test your weather-based campaigns to ensure they are reaching the intended audience.
Adjust your segments and conditions based on performance data and feedback.
