Campaign Structure and the Grid System

How layout, containers, and components work together in Triggerbee

Updated over a week ago

When you build a campaign in Triggerbee, everything starts with a solid structure. Unlike other "pure" design tools, Triggerbee uses a logical grid system that makes layout predictable, responsive, and easy to manage — without the risk of “misplaced” components.

This article will help you understand the underlying structure of a campaign and how to use drag-and-drop correctly within the grid.

The Grid System

Drag-n-dropping within a campaign is based of a grid system, with a canvas, containers, and columns. Triggerbee’s grid system keeps everything tidy and responsive. Here’s how it works:

Action

Description

🔼 🔽 Vertical Drag-and-Drop

Within a Container, you can move components up or down freely

⬅️ ➡️ Horizontal Drag-and-Drop

Within a Column, components can be moved left or right

❌ Free Placement

You can’t place components anywhere. Everything must follow the grid rules

This ensures that your campaign always aligns correctly on both desktop and mobile.

Canvas

Each step includes one Canvas, which is the foundation of your design.

  • This is where you choose:

    • Layout type (popup, embedded, fullscreen, panel, etc.)

    • Size (width and height)

    • Entry/exit animations

There is always one Canvas per step — no more, no less. The Canvas is accessed by clicking the top row of any step in the Layout menu.

3. Containers

Inside the Canvas, you can add one or more Containers.

  • Containers are vertical blocks used to group content logically.

  • Most campaigns use one container, but you can add two for side-by-side designs (e.g., form on the left, image on the right).

  • Each container can span a different percentage of the canvas width.

4. Columns

If you want to place elements next to each other horizontally inside a container, you’ll need to add Columns.

  • You can insert pre-made two- or three-column layouts, but you can add as many columns as you wish.

  • Components placed inside columns can be arranged left/right

  • Useful for aligning:

    • Text next to an icon

    • Two form fields side-by-side

    • Two buttons side-by-side

No column = no horizontal layout.

Add components to your columns via the ADD button, and rearrange them with the left/right arrows

5. Components

These are the actual content elements you drag into your layout. You'll find all the components available in the ADD menu. Among other components, some are:

  • Text, headlines, buttons

  • Images, stickers, input field

  • Radio buttons, dropdowns, checkboxes, etc.

  • Deadline clock, coupon code, memory and spin the wheel

  • Survey components

Components can be dropped into containers and are styled via the right-hand panel. Components are added to columns via the ADD button in the column component.

Summary

Triggerbee campaigns are built on a structured, responsive grid system to help you create clean, effective layouts — fast.

  • Start with a Canvas for layout, size, and animation

  • Add one or more Containers for vertical sections

  • Use Columns for horizontal layouts

  • Place and arrange your Components within the grid

  • Enjoy predictable drag-and-drop behavior that respects alignment and spacing
