Using the Campaign Editor

Updated over a week ago

Triggerbee’s Campaign Editor is your creative control center — the place where ideas turn into personalized, data-driven onsite campaigns.

The campaign-building process has two main phases:

1. Design (using the Editor)
2. Target (Triggers & Audiences)

This article focuses on Phase 1: Designing with the Campaign Editor — including layout tools, component styling, and visual previews.

Campaign Editor Overview

The Editor is a drag-and-drop builder divided into intuitive work zones:

  • Left Menu → Add Components, configure structure, add Form settings and Custom Code

  • Center Canvas → Visual layout and real-time preview

  • Right Panel → Style and configure each component

  • Bottom Bar → Preview, zoom, and toggle views

Left Menu: Your Campaign Toolkit

Located on the far left, this is where you access building blocks and configure campaign steps.

Layout Tab

See a structured list of your current campaign steps (e.g., entry, primary, success, minimized) and each component within them.

You can:

  • Reorder steps: The top one is the one that will display first. This will always have the "ENTRY" tag

  • Reorder components within the current step

  • Hide components within steps on mobile or desktop

  • Duplicate or delete individual components
Perfect for managing multi-step campaigns like form submissions or surveys.

Add Tab

Insert new design or form components.

Categories include:

  • Static: Images, text, buttons and stickers

  • Layout: Columns, containers andspacers

  • Form: Input fields (email, name, radio buttons), dropdowns, submit buttons

  • Triggerbee: Coupon codes, Deadline component, Gamification components and custom code

  • Survey: Star, thumb and smiley rating components

Tip: Use the Clipboard to reuse components across steps, campaigns and accounts

Form Settings & Custom Scripts

  • Form Settings: Connect your form to your CRM, marketing automation tool, or email list. Form Settings are only visible if you are currently building a Form.

  • Custom Scripts: Add JavaScript, event tracking, or styling overrides if needed. The Custom Script feature is only available for Pro plan and higher.

Visual Campaign Builder

The center of the Editor is where your campaign takes shape in real-time. The editor includes:

  • Drag-and-drop interaction

  • Inline editing for text, buttons, etc.

  • Visual structure of your design in real time

Right Panel: Style and Settings

Click any component in your campaign to open the settings in the right-hand panel.

It contains two tabs:

General Tab

  • General Settings for Layout and sizing

  • Actions & transitions

  • Accessibility settings (WCAG)

Style Tab

Fine-tune every detail:

  • Typography: Fonts, sizes, line height, spacing

  • Appearance: Borders, rounded corners, background colors, shadow

  • Padding & Margin: Precise spacing control

  • Icons & placeholders (for form fields)

  • etc.

You can also apply your brand settings automatically if configured.

Bottom Bar: Preview & Adjustments

The toolbar below your campaign gives you tools for testing and fine-tuning.

  • Preview mode: See your campaign live on your website. If you haven't installed the Triggerbee tracking code, you can use the Quick Preview to preview directly in the Editor. This is also useful for quickly previewing all steps in your campaign without leaving the Editor.

  • Device view toggles: Switch between Desktop and Mobile

  • Zoom controls: Adjust your canvas size for precision work

Next Step

When your design is ready, the next step is to set your Triggers & Audience — to decide who sees your campaign, and when.
