CleverReach handles your email. Triggerbee handles your website. Connect the two and a visitor stops being anonymous the moment they sign up or click through from a newsletter.
The sync runs in both directions:
Triggerbee to CleverReach: form signups, onsite behavior, and profile data land on the contact in your CleverReach list.
CleverReach to Triggerbee: list membership and subscriber data come back into the visitor profile, so you can target onsite campaigns on what someone already receives by email.
Setup takes about three minutes. You connect through CleverReach’s own login screen, so you never copy an API key.
Before you start
You need three things:
A CleverReach account with admin access.
Your CleverReach Customer ID, username, and password.
The Triggerbee script installed on your website.
At least one list in CleverReach, which CleverReach calls a Group. Create one before you start, or the list picker in step 5 comes up empty.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Open Apps and Integrations in Triggerbee
Log in to Triggerbee and go to Apps and Integrations. Scroll to the bottom and click BROWSE APPS.
Step 2: Find CleverReach and start the connection
Search for CleverReach in the app list and click it. Triggerbee opens a CleverReach window.
Click Log in with my existing CleverReach account and connect.
If you do not have a CleverReach account yet, click Create and connect your CleverReach account now instead. CleverReach creates the account from the details Triggerbee sends across and connects it in the same step.
Step 3: Log in to CleverReach
Fill in your CleverReach login details:
Customer ID: your CleverReach customer number.
User name: the user you want the connection to run as.
Password: that user’s password.
Click Log in now & connect Triggerbee.
Step 4: Check that CleverReach shows as connected
CleverReach sends you back to Triggerbee. You now see CleverReach under Connected apps with a green Connected label.
Click CONFIGURE to finish the setup.
Step 5: Choose your list
Open the List dropdown and pick the CleverReach list that should receive contacts from Triggerbee. The dropdown reads your lists straight from CleverReach, so what you see here matches what you see there.
Save, and the integration is live.
Note: CleverReach calls these lists Groups. If a list is missing from the dropdown, create the group in CleverReach first, then reopen CONFIGURE.
⚠ VERIFY BEFORE PUBLISHING: Does the configure flow have more steps after the list picker, such as field mapping or a data selection screen? The screenshot only shows the List field. If there are more steps, add them here as Step 6 and follow the Omnisend article’s “Choose what data to sync” wording. Delete this box once checked.
Send form signups to CleverReach
Once the integration runs, any Triggerbee form can write straight into your CleverReach list.
Open your campaign in the Triggerbee editor.
Go to Form Settings.
Activate CleverReach.
Map each field in your form to the matching field in CleverReach.
Triggerbee creates the automation for you. New signups now appear in your CleverReach list within seconds.
Note: Field names in CleverReach depend on how you set up the group. Check the exact spelling under Group > Settings > Fields in CleverReach before you map.
Use CleverReach lists for onsite targeting
This is where the two-way sync earns its keep. You can show a different message to someone who already subscribes than to someone who has never heard from you.
Go to Audiences in Triggerbee and create a new audience.
Click Add filter and pick your CleverReach list.
Set whether the visitor should be in the list or not in it.
Save the audience.
Now select that audience in any campaign. A subscriber sees your product message. A non-subscriber sees the signup form.
Note: Targeting on CleverReach lists only works for visitors Triggerbee has identified. Read the next section to identify more of them.
Identify CleverReach contacts from your emails
Triggerbee recognizes a visitor once it knows their email address. Pass that address in your newsletter links and the visitor identifies themselves on the first click.
In your CleverReach email, edit the link and add the email placeholder as a URL parameter.
Before:
After:
CleverReach fills {EMAIL} with the recipient’s address when it sends. Anyone who clicks arrives identified, and everything they do on the site attaches to their CleverReach contact.
Write CleverReach placeholders in capital letters inside curly brackets, or they will not resolve.
Troubleshooting
“Error while authenticating”
The connection exists but the credentials no longer work. Open Apps and Integrations, click the three dots next to CleverReach, and reconnect with your login details.
The List dropdown is empty
You have no groups in CleverReach, or the connected user cannot see them. Create a group in CleverReach, then reopen CONFIGURE.
Contacts are not arriving in CleverReach
Check three things in order:
The integration shows Connected on the Apps and Integrations page.
CleverReach is switched on in the campaign’s Form Settings.
Every form field maps to a real field in the CleverReach group.
A field syncs empty
The field name in Triggerbee does not match the field name in CleverReach. Open Group > Settings > Fields in CleverReach, copy the exact name, and remap.
