Profiles

Everything you know about a person, collected in one place.

A profile is a person on your site. Triggerbee collects all of a person's visits, devices, events and data from connected tools in their profile.

  • Identified profiles have an identifier, usually an email address or a contact ID, connected to their visits. Visitors become identified by sharing their email through a form, a newsletter link or a login. Profiles can also be created by importing contacts.

  • Anonymous profiles have their visits connected to a cookie ID instead.

Triggerbee links a person's devices and browsers into one history. Each new device or browser needs to identify once before it's linked to the profile.

The profile list

Go to Audiences → Profiles. By default you see identified people for all time, sorted by when they were last seen. Anonymous profiles are hidden by default. To see them, open More filters and set Identity to Anonymous or All profiles.

Each profile shows:

  • Profile: name, email address(es) and tags, for example NewSubscriber.

  • Last seen and First seen.

  • Country, Device, Visits and Revenue.

  • Engagement: how engaged the person is (Hot, Active, Interested or Cold). See Engagement score below.

  • Affinity for content: the content they're most interested in, for example Category: Table lamps.

Search and filter

  • Search: type an email address or a name. Use * as a wildcard, for example *@example.com.

  • Use existing audience: only show profiles in one of your saved audiences.

  • Date picker: show profiles seen in a specific period, or all time.

  • More filters: combine several filters. Click the filter icon in a column header to filter on that column directly.

The Activity filter decides which people are included:

  • Seen: people with tracked activity on your site.

  • Everyone: also people with no activity, such as imported profiles.

  • Not yet seen: only people who have never visited, for example imported contacts who haven't identified on your site yet.

Engagement score

Every profile gets an engagement score from 0 to 100, based on the person's whole history:

  • Activity, purchases and goals (40%)

  • Time since their last purchase, or last visit if they never bought (25%)

  • Number of visits and activity per visit (20%)

  • Interest in categories and brands (15%)

The profile panel shows:

  • Engagement: the score and how it changed over the last 5 visits.

  • Activity: when the person was last seen and when they were first seen.

  • Audiences: the audiences the person belongs to right now.

  • General: total events, number of visits, top content dimension, country and tags.

  • Affinity for content: the share of interest per content dimension.

  • Goals: the goals the person has completed, and how many times.

  • Distributed coupons: coupons the person has received, and whether they copied them.

  • Properties: other data stored on the profile, for example phone number or answers from forms.

  • Consents: each consent the person gave, when, in which form, and which version of your privacy policy.

  • Visits: all visits, newest first. Click a visit to open it.

  • Identifiers: the email addresses and other identifiers linked to the person.

  • Devices: the devices and browsers the person has used.

Import profiles

Import contacts to add data from your CRM, for example tags, or to create profiles for people who haven't visited your site yet. OBS! Imported profiles aren't tracked on your site until the person identifies.

  1. Go to Audiences → Profiles and click the upload icon (Import profiles).

  2. In the Format step, check which columns you can use. Click Download template to get a CSV file with the right columns.

  3. Click Next. Drag and drop your CSV file, click to browse, or paste the CSV text directly. Max file size is 10 MB (about 125,000 contacts).

  4. Click Next to see a preview of the first row, as it will be imported.

  5. Choose how empty cells should be handled. See below.

  6. Click Import. The Progress step shows how the import is going.

Your file needs one column with the email or ID that identifies each person. All other columns are optional:

Stored as a property on the profile

Empty cells: by default, empty cells are ignored and existing values are kept. We recommend this. Tick Empty cells clear existing values only when your file is the full truth for the columns it contains.

Export profiles

Click the download icon (Export profiles) to export profiles as a CSV file. Apply filters or choose an audience first if you only want to export some of them. The file is downloaded directly in the app.

Delete profiles

You can delete profiles one at a time, many at once, or automatically after a period of inactivity.

One profile: open the profile, click the three-dot menu and choose Delete profile.

Many profiles: click the delete icon (Delete profiles) in the toolbar and choose how to select profiles:

  • Identifiers: upload a CSV file or paste identifiers, such as email addresses, one per line. Max 5,000 rows per file. Split larger lists into batches.

  • Last seen before: delete everyone whose last visit is before a date you pick.

Tick Also delete in every account for this customer to delete the profiles on all accounts in your account group. Click Next, confirm, and you'll see the result.

Automatically: turn on automatic data cleaning in Account settings to delete inactive profiles, together with their visits and session data, after a period you choose, for example 24 months. Aggregated statistics are kept. Accounts have 26 months as default.

Profile fields

Profile fields are the properties you can store on a profile, for example birthdate, customer ID or answers from a quiz. Go to Audiences → Profiles → Profile fields to see them.

The list shows each field's name and key. The first fields (Firstname, Lastname, Email, Telephone and Organization) are built in and can't be changed.

Add a profile field:

  1. Click + Add new profile field.

  2. Enter a key. Use only letters and numbers. The key is what you use in forms, imports and JavaScript.

  3. Enter a display name, which is how the field is shown in Triggerbee.

  4. Click Create.

To change or remove a field you've added, click the three-dot menu on the row and choose Edit or Delete.

Fill profile fields with data:

  • Triggerbee forms: map a form field to a profile field in your experience.

  • Import: add a column named after the field's key to your CSV file. See Import profiles above.

  • JavaScript: set the field for a visitor on your site, for example triggerbee.session.sneakers='value'.
