Visitor Feed

Get a detailed walkthrough of the Triggerbee Visitor feed

The Visitor feed in Triggerbee is where your tracking starts. This list will show you all your visitors, where they came from, what they are doing on your website, and as you convert identifiers - who they are. Each row in the visitor list represents sessions, not unique visitors. This means that the same visitor will appear every time they revisit your webpage. By default, Triggerbee only stores 7 days of detailed data. All important events (such as campaign activity, number of visits) will be stored for future creation.

Visits

Go to Audiences → Visits. By default you see the last 14 days. Change the period with the date picker in the top right: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or a custom range. Note: How far back you can view visits depends on your Triggerbee plan.

  • Visits lists every session: when it happened, who it was, how engaged they were and where they came from.

  • Profiles list people. A profile collects all visits, devices and events from one person over time. Read more in Profiles.

Each row in Visits is a session, not a unique visitor. A visitor who returns three times appears as three rows in Visits but as one profile in Profiles.

Each visit shows:

  • Start: date, time and duration of the visit.

  • Visitor: the person's name or email if they're identified. Otherwise the company name or internet provider (marked Isp).

  • Engagement: how engaged the visitor was during the visit (Hot, Active, Interested or Cold). See Engagement score below.

  • Events: goals completed during the visit, for example Checkout. Read more in Event logging and Identification.

  • Affinity: the content the visitor showed most interest in, for example URL: Lamps or Category: Table lamps. Set up which content to track in Content Dimensions.

  • Source: where the visit came from, for example Direct, Organic search or a social network.

Above the list you see the number of visits in the period and how many visitors are online right now.

Choose columns

Click the column icon to show or hide columns. Start and Visitor are always shown. You can add Country, Device, Page views and Revenue. Click Reset to default to go back to the standard set.

Export visits

Click the download icon (Export visits) to download the visits that match your current filters.

Search and filter

Use these tools to narrow the list. Profiles have the same tools.

  • Search: type an email address or a name in the search field. Use * as a wildcard, for example *@example.com to find everyone from one domain.

  • Use existing audience: pick one of your saved audiences to only see the visits in it. This replaces the saved segments in the old Visitor feed: save a filter combination you use often as an audience instead.

  • More filters: open the filter panel to combine several filters.

  • Column filters: click the filter icon in a column header (Visitor, Engagement, Events, Affinity, Source) to filter on that column directly.

The filters are grouped like this:

Group

Filters

Who

Identity, Identified via

Visit

Source, Referring site, Country, Device, UTM campaign/source/medium, Time on site, Purchase, Visitor's visits, Login, Coupon

Activity

Goals, Tags, Onsite Experiences, Event type, Consent

Affinity for content

URL, Category

Engagement

Hot, Active, Interested, Cold

A few filters are good to know about:

  • Identified via filters on how Triggerbee first got the person's identifier. An email or contact ID that first arrived through a newsletter link counts for that integration.

  • Affinity for content is based on content viewed in the last 30 days, or less if your account keeps data for a shorter time.

Engagement score

Every visit gets an engagement score from 0 to 100. The score is grouped into four levels:

Level

Score

Hot

71–100

Active

41–70

Interested

21–40

Cold

0–20

Profiles also have an engagement score, but it's based on the person's whole history. See Profiles.

Visit engagement shows how engaged the visitor was during that single visit:

  • Time on site (up to 35 points)

  • Page views and other events (up to 30 points)

  • Purchase (25 points) or goal (15 points)

  • Type of pages viewed, where product and checkout pages count most (up to 10 points)

Visit and profile details

Click a visit to open its details in a side panel.

The visit panel shows:

  • The engagement score for the visit.

  • The audiences the visitor belongs to.

  • General: start and end time, number of pages, goals, duration and country.

  • Affinity for content for this visit.

  • Events: a timeline of everything that happened, such as page views, experience views (widget-open), clicks (widget-clickthrough), dismissals and form submissions.

  • Device and Source.

Click View profile to see the person behind the visit, with all their visits, devices and audiences. Click Back to visit to return.

Traffic sources

Triggerbee groups traffic into sources such as:

  • Direct: visits with no referrer, for example when someone types your URL.

  • Organic search: unpaid traffic from search engines such as Google.

  • Paid search: search ads, for example Google Ads.

  • Organic social: unpaid traffic from social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and X.

  • Paid social: ads on social platforms.

  • Email: newsletters and other email sends.

  • Affiliate: traffic from affiliate partners.

  • Referral: links from other websites.

  • Other: traffic that doesn't fit any of the groups above.

How visits are counted

  • Bot visits are excluded.

  • A session ends after 15 minutes of inactivity.

  • If a visitor leaves the site, the session ends 5 minutes later.

How long visits are saved

How long session and activity data for anonymous visitors is kept depends on your plan:

Plan

Visit data kept

Pro

7 days

Success

30 days

Data for identified visitors is kept as long as your account is active. Contact your Customer Success Manager or sales if you need to keep visit data longer.
